About This Treatment

Composite bonding is used to enhance the appearance of many tooth complaints including chipped or worn teeth, discoloured teeth, undesirable tooth shape or length and to reduce spaces in between teeth. It is also used for restorative dental treatments including composite tooth-coloured filings (as an alternative to metal amalgam fillings) and to protect root surfaces where gum recession has occurred.

What Materials Are Used?

The material used for bonding is comprised of tooth-coloured composite resin which adheres gently and effectively to the tooth surface. In most cases it requires virtually no preparation of the tooth structure and is crafted into the desired shape in-house by our skilled clinicians.

Pre-Procedure

At Blandy House we offer a wax-up appointment first where multiple teeth are being corrected. This allows us to give you a visual idea of how the final aesthetic result will be before committing to treatment and also allows us to make any changes until both the patient and dentist are happy.

Treatment Frequency

Normally, the process requires 2-3 visits including a review appointment to polish the bonding surfaces to ensure the transition between the bonding and the tooth structure is flush, smooth and virtually undetectable.
